Brighter Sound recently took part in the Manchester Science Festival, presenting new music commissioned for the Robot Orchestra. The Robot Orchestra is an experiment to bring people together to create, collaborate and care for the planet. The robots include ‘electronic brains’ – machines that create music by playing real instruments such as the cello, as well as redundant technology such as computer floppy disk drives or fans, which create different sounds. On Wednesday 26th October, Manchester’s Robot Orchestra performed alongside human musicians to an audience of 1,200 at the Museum of Science and Industry. The orchestra performed original pieces written by Manchester artists Family Ranks, LayFullStop, Caro C and percussionist Uno Prism. The Robot Orchestra are now on tour, so keep your eye out for performances near you! Read more at: http://www.brightersound.com/the-robots-are-coming/.
